Preparing ceremonial cacao is an enjoyable and meditative experience that enhances your connection to the plant and allows you to create a truly heart-opening ritual. Follow the steps below to cut and prepare your cacao in various proportions, depending on your desired effect.

Cacao is meant to be enjoyed slowly.
Take time to reflect, connect with your heart, and embrace the ritual.
Use a sharp knife or cacao cutter to break the cacao block into smaller pieces.
Heat your water or plant-based milk. Do not boil. Keep the temperature below to preserve the beneficial compound in the cacao. You’ll need around 200ml (1 cup) of liquid.
Place the cut cacao pieces into and stir gently with a spoon or whisk until the cacao dissolves completely into the liquid.
If you prefer a sweeter drink, you can add a natural sweetener like honey or maple syrup, depending on your taste.
Sip your cacao slowly, savoring its rich, earthy flavor and allowing the heart-opening effects to take hold.
